RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – More and more Americans are ditching cable and satellite packages for streaming services.
It’s called “cutting the cord” and it could save you as much as $100 every month, reports our sister station WAFF.
Many now rely on an over-the-air antenna along with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu subscriptions.
“We were paying for a lot of channels that we weren’t even watching,” Daniel Horton told WAFF.
Apple, Roku, Amazon, and Google all offer devices that cost between $30 and $100 that can replace your cable box. Many come with apps pre-loaded like Netflix and Hulu. An over-the-air antenna. That can run you less than $30 in most areas, and gives you free access to over the air channels including digital subchannels carried by many local stations.
